| ProQuest's Library School Program is aimed at supporting library education, allowing students to learn essential search skills on the reference tools they are likely to encounter after graduation. Therefore we are pleased to make the company's acclaimed data resources available to information science students at no charge during the school year.
All ALA-accredited library schools in North America, plus all other comparable schools in the rest of the world, are eligible for free access to such popular resources as:
- ABI/INFORM®
- Black Studies Center
- CSA Illumina™ databases
- eLibrary®
- Literature Online®
- ProQuest® National Newspapers
- ProQuest® Historical Newspapers™
- ProQuest® Research Library
- SIRS®
- Ulrich's Periodicals Directory Online
RefWorks, a sister organization of ProQuest, shares our vision of supporting Library Schools around the world. We are delighted to offer access to the leading web-based bibliographic management tool for in class instruction.
The free subscriptions will be available to library school students and faculty only and not available campus-wide. Alternative access arrangements may be made for students studying remotely. Library schools that reside on a campus holding four or more ProQuest databases are eligible to receive a classroom sampler of microfilm newspaper/research collections, and electronic versions of film subject catalogs.
Our support for library schools around the world goes beyond providing complimentary access to these outstanding resources. In addition our professional training team is available for on-site and/or remote training to classes utilizing these products. Most members of our training team hold a MLS or MLIS degree and thus can also offer an interesting glimpse into a career in electronic publishing.
